Owners Comments and Boat History
Vapiano was purchased by the current and only owner new directly from the Hanse factory in Greifswald and delivered in July 2010. The interior was personally designed by the owner’s wife, featuring Portofino leather and a unique custom salon sofa—a full-length starboard-side lounge that can be used as a berth, unlike the standard two-seat configuration.
After taking delivery, the yacht was sailed from Greifswald to Antwerp over seven days, before being shipped to Curaçao using Seven Star Shipping. She was then sailed to Venezuela, where she was kept at the exclusive Puerto Azul Club. During this time, she frequently cruised to the Los Roques Archipelago and participated in local regattas, including a 2014 race in Bonaire, finishing third. After only a few racing events, the boat was exclusively used for cruising.
In response to the situation in Venezuela, the owner relocated the yacht and himself to Panama, sailing her downwind over five days. She was kept at Linton Bay Marina initially, and later at Playa Escondido Resort & Marina. The owner has always been meticulous with maintenance, including anti-fouling every 1–2 years.
Over the years, the yacht has completed some extensive Caribbean cruising—from St. Thomas to Guadeloupe—while occasionally being left in marinas during extended travels. She has also visited Nanny Cay in the BVI. Since moving to Panama in 2018, she has primarily sailed locally, though she has been lightly used in recent seasons. The boat remains in excellent condition and is ready for her next owner to enjoy.
