The current owner purchased Pyrat Soul II in 2022 and has since cruised primarily in the Caribbean. Since 2022 she has been a full-time liveaboard home for a family, completing multiple passages in varied conditions.
More than $45k has been invested in upgrades between 2023 and 2025. Improvements include 800 watts of solar, a 600 amp hour AGM house bank, a new inverter and MPPT controller, a portable generator, a fully serviced Yanmar 4JH3E, a portable watermaker, updated plumbing, and refreshed hoses and filters. Deck and tender upgrades include a Rocna anchor with 200 feet of chain, custom davits, a 2024 Highfield RIB with a Yamaha 15 hp outboard, new canvas, cockpit cushions, and LED lighting. Interior updates include LED lighting, fans, and general outfitting for comfortable long-term living. Regular haul-outs, fresh bottom paint, and ongoing cruiser-standard maintenance have kept the boat in solid condition.
For the current owners, Pyrat Soul II has been much more than a vessel. She has been a warm, safe floating home that raised their daughter and carried the family through memorable passages, quiet anchorages, and long stretches of off-grid living.
After three years of adventure, the family is ready to pass Pyrat Soul II to someone who will continue her story. She is well equipped, well loved, and capable of supporting a couple, a small family, or any sailor ready for a life of freedom on the sea. The current owner, a USCG-licensed captain, is committed to helping the next owner learn the systems and handling, offering time both on the hard and on the water to ensure a confident transition.

Vessel History – 2001 Hunter 410 “Pyrat Soul II”
HIN: HUN41311A101
Flag: USA
Hunter 410 wing-keel cruiser
Builder: Hunter Marine (USA), Alachua, Florida
Model: Hunter 410 / 410 SL
Year: 2001 (HIN “A101” = January 2001 build for 2001 model year)
The 410 series was designed as an offshore-capable cruiser with a B&R rig, in-mast furling, shoal-draft wing keel, and large, livable interior spaces.
Documented Ownership & Home Ports
Earlier ownership (pre-2022)
An online vessel registry entry for HIN HUN41311A101 lists the boat as PYRAT SOUL II with a U.S. flag and an owner hailing from Edgewater, Maryland.
Public sources don’t give full details on how many owners there were before me, or any detailed maintenance records, but they consistently show the same vessel name and U.S. registration.
Current ownership:
- Purchased by the current owner in 2022
- Home port and cruising grounds have since shifted from the U.S. East Coast to the Caribbean, with significant time in the Dominican Republic / Samaná Bay region
- AIS tracks from 2023–2024 show PYRAT SOUL II on the U.S. East Coast and then in the North Atlantic / Bahamas–Caribbean corridor, moving at typical sailing speeds (4–7 knots).
- This pattern is consistent with a privately owned cruising sailboat rather than a charter vessel; there’s no indication in public listings that it was ever in commercial charter fleets.
- Used as a full-time liveaboard and off-grid cruiser by a family crew.
- Has safely completed multiple passages and coastal runs in a variety of sea conditions, functioning both as a cruising boat and comfortable floating home.
- Dinghy and davit system plus upgraded ground tackle reflect a focus on long-term anchoring rather than marina life.
- Storage, Haul-outs & Maintenance Style
- Hauled and worked “on the hard” for maintenance and refit work during ownership; bottom paint and zincs renewed; systems inspected.
- Day-to-day maintenance done to a cruiser’s standard: preventative work on the Yanmar, regular fuel polishing/filters, rig checks, and continuous attention to hoses, clamps, and wiring.
- The owner (a USCG-licensed captain) has run and maintained the boat to professional standards, and are even offering to: Spend up to 1 week on the hard with buyer to confirm all systems, and provide up to 10 days on the water for systems and handling training.
- Storm / accident history: no public record I can access shows storm salvage, wreck, or major casualty for PYRAT SOUL II
