Construido con cascos con núcleo Airex y cubiertas con núcleo Divinycell, el Cambria cuenta con un núcleo de casco que no sólo proporciona una resistencia superior con un peso equivalente, sino que también ofrece ventajas de aislamiento térmico y acústico. Todo el buque ha sido diseñado para superar las estrictas normas establecidas por Lloyds y la American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Presentado inicialmente como un 44, lo que denota su eslora sobre cubierta, la eslora total del barco medía 46 pies desde la proa hasta la punta de la característica popa invertida.
