Hauptbeschreibung

2005 Beneteau Oceanis 473 “Blue Moana”

Ready-to-go 4-cabin, 3-head passagemaker built for comfort, safety, and long-range cruising.

The sellers have set the boat up for efficient off-the-dock cruising by adding an arch with solar and davits, as well as a wind generator. Originally equipped with three heads, one has been converted to storage and now houses a 3kg Daewoo clothes washer. This could be easily returned to service. The washer runs from the Victron inverter, eliminating dinghy trips to the laundry while cruising the Caribbean.

Her Shenker watermaker delivers 30L per hour, and with (4) large water tanks, she carries ample fresh water for family cruising needs or an extended passage. All electronics have been recently updated, including radar.

Her sail plan includes a staysail on a Facnor furler, making the boat very easy to handle when the Caribbean trades spike over 20kts. A substantial set of ground tackle with alternate anchors ensures good holding and sound sleeping wherever you set the hook. She also includes a powerful bow thruster for navigating tight marinas.

The sellers crossed the Atlantic with their teenagers on Blue Moana in 2024 and have been actively cruising the Eastern and Western Caribbean since then. These Swiss owners have done an exceptional job with maintenance and record keeping.

This 473 is turnkey and awaiting her next adventures.

Owners Comments and Boat History

We are very happy with our décision at the time to buy this Oceanis 473. This boat fitted our needs for our circumnavigation programs of two years. First she has very nice lines and she sail great. Easy to handle, comfortable, secured in high sea and pretty fast. Which is a gauge of security in ocean passages. The interior also fitted our needs for our two teenager and sometimes to welcome family and friends. This was also a great deal concerning the price for a well equipped 47’ foot sailboat. And we can confirm the excellent réputation of the family of these Beneteau Oceanis 473. No regret!

Originally we believe the boat set up for chartering in the Caribbean for her first 4-5 years. Two other owners spent weekends sailing in the Mediterranean. The most immediate prior owner bought the boat in 2018 to do a 1 year Atlantic tour in 2021. The Current owner purchased the boat in 2022 with plans for a 2 year circumnavigation. Leaving Italy in 2024 they crossed to the Caribbean where the vessel has been sailing since.
